Yǒu as have / exist

She has three neighbours  tā yǒu sān gè lín jū  她有三个邻居。
He has fifty classmates  tā yǒu wǔ shí gè tóng xué  他有五十个同学。
There are two elder sisters, one younger sister and one younger brother in their family  tā men jiā yǒu liǎng gè jiě jiě,yī gè mèi mèi hé yī gè dì dì  他们家有两个姐姐,一个妹妹和一个弟弟。
There is a bed, a wardrobe and a TV  zhè lǐ yǒu yī zhāng chuáng,yī gè yī guì hé yī gè diàn shì 这里有一张床,一个衣柜和一个电视。
There are a lot of books in the university library  dà xué de tú shū guǎn lǐ yǒu hěn duō shū 大学的图书馆里有很多书。

 

Méi Yǒu idicates that the object is not possessed or does not exist

I don’t have mobile phone  wǒ méi yǒu shǒu jī  我没有手机。
He won’t have class tomorrow morning  tā míng tiān shàng wǔ méi yǒu kè 他明天上午没有课。
This room doesn’t have window  zhè gè fáng jiān méi yǒu chuāng hù  这个房间没有窗户。
There is not big fish in this lake  zhè gè hú lǐ méi yǒu dà yú 这个湖里没有大鱼。
There is nobody in the rooms of the third floor  sān lóu de fáng jiān lǐ méi yǒu rén  三楼的房间里没有人。
